Fifteen new graduates from School de Canon Law

Joaquín Calvo, sponsor of the LV graduating class, recalled at the end of degree program the importance of keeping the spirit of service alive.

The School of Canon Law celebrated on May 25 the End of the year ceremony degree program of the 15 students who are part of the LV promotion.. The meeting began with a Eucharist at 11 a.m., followed by the academic ceremony in which the diplomas, scholarships and medals were awarded to the new graduates. The sponsor of the graduating class was professor Joaquín Calvo Álvarezwho in September concludes his activity professor at the University due to his upcoming retirement.

The academic ceremony was presided over by Antonio Viana, Dean of the School of Canon Law and José Antonio Fuentes, director of programs of study. In the initial speech the delegate of the graduating class, Jean Eudes Tehia, expressed his gratitude to those who have left their mark in his heart during these three years: "To God, to the professors, to the classmates and to the Virgin of the Beautiful Love".

In his speech, Professor Joaquín Calvo emphasized the importance of the knowledge received at the University for the performance of his profession as well as the spirit of service: "If Jesus Christ said 'I have not come to be served but to serve', we Christians must have a constant disposition of service. If we fulfill this, we will be well focused on our task". He also encouraged them that "the university spirit of our alma mater should not cease to be part of your identity".
