School of Architecture which is part of the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, declared by the World Health Organization, to be celebrated in 2020 and which has been extended to the first part of 2021.

"This sample - made up of 16 panels - was created with the goal to provide a new look at the profession that breaks with the clichés that accompany it, to contribute to making the work of nurses visible, and to pay tribute to them on the framework of their international year," explains one of its promoters, Borja Centenera, coordinator of Master's Degree and international programs of the School.

The first part of project was executed in 2019 and consisted of a survey of the most prevalent concepts about the profession among people outside the healthcare field. "Participants were asked what concepts came to mind when they thought of nursing. As a result of this survey, we collected a total of 1,163 concepts, from which we extracted the most widespread ones: caring, soul, presence or research", explains Borja Centenera.

"A work that transcends the field itself."

From this conceptual material, the 3rd year students of Degree in design (accredited specialization Services) have worked on different proposals with the help of Professor Aitor Acilu in 16 posters: "We can all discover or confirm, through a multifaceted, deep, human look..., some of the most relevant capabilities of nurses today and probably always; away from clichés and interpretations of class", underlines Acilu.

Regarding the partnership with the School of Nursing, the professor of design adds that "the work that transcends the field itself enriches the training of the students and broadens their radius of action to interdisciplinary fields".

In the next phase of project it is expected to have the participation of students from Master's Degree of programs of study Curatorial MUN, as well as to exhibit these works in other galleries in Pamplona, Bilbao and Madrid, already in 2021.
