Sara Pueyo (ENF'16) is doctoral program of the School of Nursing. Specifically, her research is about the development of a training program for college students on alcohol consumption. However, in between classes, papers and other academic pursuits, she organizes herself to compete in track and field as well. A hobby that began when she was eight years old and in which she has recently been ranked first in the Navarra Absolute Indoor Championships.

"Competing in the triple jump has allowed me to develop not only academically but also in staff. One learns to be constant and methodical, to organize oneself and know how to prioritize, to be disciplined, to improve oneself and to fight to overcome the difficulties that arise along the way," Sara says about what the sport brings her outside the track. She also emphasizes that "it teaches you to work in group, since on many occasions we compete as a team, and that is where each of us contributes to the rest of our teammates".

Despite them, combining these two facets is not always easy, "especially when you have to combine a doctoral thesis and you move in the world of competition". However, she doesn't give up and whenever the work allows it, she puts on her running shoes and trains.

In fact, his next goal will be to improve his record staff to enter the Absolute Spanish Championship. A great challenge that, undoubtedly, will face with effort, tenacity and a lot of sportsmanship.
