An entrepreneurial project that prevents food waste, winner of the entrepreneurship program of the University of Navarra for Master's Degree

Last week, more than 50 students gathered at the headquarters of the University of Navarra in Madrid, Spain. Madrid to participate in the final of "Fast Track Madrid", the academic center's entrepreneurship competition for students from postgraduate program.
For several months, the students of Master's Degree have participated in training sessions given by the professionals of Innovation Factory, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of the University. The goal of these sessions consisted of acquiring competencies on innovation and entrepreneurship to complement their programs of study of Master's Degree with skills and abilities that are increasingly demanded by companies. Students will therefore be better able to undertake their own projects and lead and promote innovation projects within any business.
Through sessions on ideation, business plan, communication, finance and operations, among others, students have worked for months to develop different entrepreneurship projects.
Finally, last Thursday took place the final of the program where the 6 finalist teams, among almost 100 registered to the program, carried out a defense -pitch-before a professional jury formed by David Suriol, Co-Founder of Vortex Bladeless and CEO of Moonshot Innovation; and Álvaro Pérez Redondo, CEO and Co-Founder of Harbest.
The workshop concluded with the submission of the first award to SatisfAI, a team formed by Inés Hernández, Paula Sanjuan, Iker Yáñez, Hector González and Jesús López, all of them from the Master's Degree in Big Data Science of the Institute of Science of the data and Artificial Intelligence. Through a software to manage the stock and product of restaurants, the team had as goal optimize the resources of catering establishments to generate the least possible waste before even generating it. "Beyond the development of this API, which is easily integrated into the management software of all establishments, we have created a dynamic digital menu that modifies the order and position of the products in each restaurant to regulate and encourage the consumption of certain foods over others," Paula explained.
In addition to SatisfAI, the finalist projects belonged to completely different sectors. Focus, runner-up, consisted of the development of a software that captures the strokes of the teacher's explanations on the blackboard so that students have real-time, updated notes and can increase their attention and participation in the classroom. Indomath, on the other hand, offered online modules for dynamic learning of mathematics for 2nd grade in audiovisual format. high school diploma in audiovisual format. Baby & Back, as an innovative solution in the retail sector that reconditioned baby clothes. LinkCar, project of mobility sustainable, developed a platform that put on contact drivers and passengers on similar routes, planning the trip and its costs. Finally, Skiprof was a platform that connected ski instructors with students who wanted to book lessons.
The award consisted of a cash contribution to motivate the team to continue promoting its project. In addition to SatisfAI, all participating teams have the opportunity to receive advice and support from Innovation Factory in all future stages.
