Professor Fernando Sarráis, psychiatrist and psychologist, assures that despite the fact that in society there is a prevailing desire to have a "body 10", in order to be happy what is really important lies in the personality, in the way of being of each person. This is what he explained in the session he gave to fifty people in the XVII Course of update of the high school Superior of Religious Sciences of the University of Navarre, centred on 'The reasons of the heart: educating to love: how to form wise hearts and minds in love'.

As he pointed out, having a "mind 10" consists morally of virtues, but psychologically it means having peace and joy unconditionally: "It is a task that is exercised every day, starting with the little things. Not only on the beach when someone goes on holiday, but on Monday, when you have to get up early and the previous Sunday your team lost the match. Being negative about everything only leads to a life of bitterness.

During his intervention he also offered some guidelines for understanding and training people with certain affective imbalances.

Five sessions of training

School In addition to Fernando Sarráis, a doctor and professor at Education and Psychology, four other professors from different areas of research took part in the three conference courses.

Jaime Nubiola, professor at School of Philosophy y Letras, opened the course. He focused his exhibition on intellectual freedom, in which he pointed out that the will, which loves the good, can be strengthened by the affections if they are educated by the virtues, and is directed by the knowledge of truth.

María Calatrava, a researcher at the Institute for Culture and Society The second session was given by María Calatrava, a researcher at the University, who emphasized that the training of a heart until it reaches the maturity of virtues is a slow, patient and sometimes painful process, but that it can be an exciting adventure for parents and educators.

Also from Institute for Culture and Society , Prof. Carlos Beltramo spoke about how to help people become masters of their sexuality. He pointed out that the relationship between mind and heart seems especially necessary to ensure that the person can give himself to others on the path of marriage or celibacy.

position The last session of the course was given by Tomás Trigo, lecturer at School de Teología. He explained that, in the relationship with God, all the capacities of the person must be brought into play: intelligence and will, reason and affections. But the first one who loves people, and who carries them in his heart, is God.
