Project 'Emotional culture and identity'


José María Torralba gave a talk at lecture 'On Morally Neutral Actions' at congress 'The Moral Philosophy of Elizabeth Anscombe', organized by The Anscombe Bioethics Centre (Blackfriars Hall, University of Oxford). She also presented the paper 'Anscombe on the Truth of Actions. The Relevance of Practical Truth for Action Theory' at the VII congress of the Spanish Society of Analytical Philosophy (SEFA), held at the Carlos III University. 

 

project 'Mind-brain'

José Ignacio Murillo attended in London the workshop 'Science and Religion in Latin America: Challenges and Opportunities', organized by the Ian Ramsey Center for Science and Religion and the School of Theology of the University of Oxford.

 


 

Nathaniel Barrett attended the IX International Whitehead congress in Krakow (Poland). He presented a paper in the Psychology section under degree scroll 'Value in Life and Mind: A Whiteheadian Response to Enactive Theory'.

 

 

 

Miguel García-Valdecasas gave a Epistemology' course at Strathmore University (Nairobi, Kenya), invited by the Master in Philosophy and Applied Ethics.

 

 

 

project ATLANTES

Carlos Centeno participated in the Meeting of the EAPC Steering Group on Physician Education and Training, organized by the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) in Sardinia (Italy).

 

 

 

José Miguel Carrasco attended the congress Iberoamerican Epidemiology and Public Health 'Science and the internship of health policies: the intelligence of public health', which took place in Granada. He was also present at the meeting 'New techniques for the assessment of processes in Public Health', at the Public Health Summer School in Menorca.

 

 

project 'Natural law and rationality internship'

Alejandro Vigo intervened in the congress Humboldt-Kolleg Heidegger International Conference 'The Question of Affectivity', organized by the Ibero-American Society of programs of study Heideggerians (SIEH) in Puebla (Mexico). There he offered the lecture inauguration, entitled 'Affectivity, comprehension, language. Heidegger and the Alteeological Reconstruction of the speech not apophanic'. Likewise, at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, where the congress, dictated a lecture and a seminar.

 

 

Mariano Crespo attended in Germany the congress 'Social Experience', organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Phänomenologische Forschung at the School of Philosophy of the University of Cologne.

 


 

 

Julia Urabayen presented two papers: 'The ipseity un-masked. Exteriority, Alterity and Openness of the Other in Levinas and Derrida' in the Second congress Ibero-American Personalism, at the Catholic University of Colombia (Bogotá, Colombia); and 'Humanity is an Exclusionary Empire. Human Rights as Cause and Solution of the Pariah Problem' at the 2nd Electronic International Interdisciplinary Conference 2013. On the other hand, he gave the lecture 'Perplexity of Rights and Judgment in H. Arendt' in the seminar 'The Crisis of the Notion of Law in Hannah Arendt and Jacques Derrida', at the Pontifical Bolivarian University (Medellín, Colombia). He also offered two sessions at the seminar of postgraduate program 'Levinas and Derrida: Alterity and Otherness in the Face of Ipseity' at the University of Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia).

A team of researchers presented the communication 'False beliefs and myths about HIV/AIDS in Kinshasa (DRCongo): a case-control study at the congress Ibero-American Epidemiology and Public Health, held in Granada from 4 to 6 September 2013.

 



project 'Religion and Civil Society'

David Thunder presented the paper The Call to Action: What the Idea of Vocation Can Add to a Theory of Our Global Obligations' at the American Political Science Association's annual congress in Chicago (USA).

 

 

 

Navarra Center for International Development

Pedro Mendi was invited to the 6th Annual Conference of the Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (AIE), at Oxford University. He also visited the lecture of the United Nations Conference on Trade and development (UNCTAD): in the Science, Technology and ICT branch of the Division of Technology, he presented a policy paper on technology transfer to countries at development.

 

 

Proyecto 'Frontiers and culture' project

Juan Cianciardo gave a seminar for teachers in the School of Law from the University of La Sabana (Colombia). In the Master's Degree in Constitutional Law of that same campus he also taught classes on the State, the Constitution and Human Rights. On the other hand, he offered a seminar of professors on 'The a priori of the culture of rights' at the Universidad Austral (Argentina) and taught at the doctoral program in Law from the Universidad Panamericana (Mexico).
