The high school Official Pharmacists' Association of Navarre recognizes Antonio Monge during the Day of the Member of the Association.

high school framework On November 23rd, the Official Pharmacists' Association of Navarra awarded the XVII COFNA Awards, on the occasion of the celebration of the Collegiate Day, which coincides with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, patron saint of pharmacists. On this occasion, the winners were the Full Professor of Chemistry Pharmaceutical of the University of Navarra Antonio Monge, distinguished with the "award to a professional career in the pharmaceutical world"; the pharmacist, entrepreneur and former student of the University Maite Agüeros, who received the "award COFNA to Entrepreneurship", and the committee General de Colegios Oficiales de Farmacéuticos, who received the "award to a strategy for the pharmaceutical profession" from its president, Jesús Aguilar, for the corporate initiative 'Somos farmacéuticos' (We are pharmacists).

In this way, Antonio Monge has been recognized for his 50 years of teaching and research at the University of Navarra and in more than 50 American universities, as well as for achievements such as the creation of the subject of Chemistry Pharmaceutics and the research center in Applied Pharmacology (CIFA). "This award has a special meaning for coming from whom it comes from: from high school, a place of meeting around the medicine, and from Pharmacy, a sector that opens a world of possibilities because it is medicine, it is care for the sick, it is care for those who are alone," he said.

Maite Agüeros, a former student and doctoral candidate at School of Pharmacy and Nutrition, emphasized her intention to "put the biomedical research at the service of people". Agüeros is director and founding partner of InnoUp Farma, business dedicated to the creation of safer and more effective drugs through nanotechnology. Currently, the business is immersed in the development of a vaccine for peanut allergy and an oral treatment for breast cancer. 

high school The event brought together more than 200 registered pharmacists, led by the president of the Official Pharmacists' Association of Navarra, Marta Galipienzo. The event was also attended by health authorities, such as the Deputy Director of Pharmacy of the Navarra Health Service-Osasunbidea, Antonio López, and the president of Cinfa Laboratories, Enrique Ordieres, sponsor of the event.
