Experience LAB DAY at Aristo Pharma
Paula García is studying the 2nd year of Master's Degree MDGFI at the University of Navarra and after her work end of Master's Degree she was awarded with a special workshop at Aristo Pharma Iberia facilities
Paula García (2nd Master's Degree in design Galenic and Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry) titled her work end of Master's Degree in the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition of the University of Navarra "Solid oral dosage forms for the delivery of zein nanoparticles". With it, last December, he achieved a very specialaward : a LAB DAY at the facilities of Aristo Pharma Iberia.
Her project -which consisted of designing dosage forms for the release of Zein nanoparticles- also allowed her to develop four types of formulas: capsules, effervescent tablets, floating tablets and sucking tablets: "After a year at the Master's Degree MDGFI, and 5 months of internship at Cinfa laboratories, I had the opportunity to visit the facilities of Aristo Pharma Iberia", explains the student at postgraduate program. "This group -specifically, the facilities of Medinsa Laboratories, in Torrejón de Ardoz-, is dedicated to the manufacture of solid forms for commercialization. It also has a pilot plant where they develop small-scale formulations," adds Paula.
The Lab Day Program aims to link the university with the world of work and thus motivate students to broaden their horizons. Last year, the program selected 7 students from different Spanish universities. "Together we visited the Medinsa laboratory facilities and there we received a theoreticaltraining and internship on tablet coating and pellet coating. We also met part of the team of professionals at laboratory and were able to see what the daily work at work is like in the pharmaceutical industry". "It was a very enriching experience", emphasizes the student, who graduated in Pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid.
"In the end, students are not always clear about which career path to choose, and these activities help us a lot. I wish other industries would do the same," Paula concludes.
