The students of the Master's Degree in design and management Environmental Buildings from the School of Architecture made an international stay at the Technische Universität Dresden, where they studied in depth the employment of wood as a construction material and the innovations that are being carried out in this field. The students studied the physical and mechanical properties, species selection, wood processing, application of laser technology, Structures wood, wood with textile reinforcements and joining systems.

They also had the opportunity to apply their knowledge to the development of a 50 m2 house built entirely of wood. The houses were located in Cuzco, Dresden and Oslo, in order to compare three very different climates and environments from the point of view of wood use and energy performance. The Full Professor at the high school of Steel and Wood of the University of Dresden, Professor Peer Haller supervised and guided the projects realized by the students.

During their stay, the students visited the University's campus , and attended the 26th Bridge Construction Symposium and the related exhibition , which took place during their stay.

One of the objectives of the MDGAE is that students acquire an international professional profile in order to be able to develop their profession in an increasingly global environment. To this end, the Master's Degree has international professors who bring the experience of other countries to the achievement of a more sustainable Building . MDGAE students made another international stay in December at the University of Cardiff (United Kingdom).
