Tips on healthy eating and healthy habits on the occasion of National Nutrition Day

Students from the University of Navarra and dietitians-nutritionists from CODINNA set up a free stand in Carlos III

Last May 28th was celebrated the National Nutrition Day. On this occasion, students from Degree of Human Nutrition and Dietetics of the University of Navarra and experts from high school Official Dietitians and Nutritionists of Navarra (CODINNA-NADNEO) offered free nutritional advice at a stand placed next to the Encierro Monument -in Carlos III street in Pamplona with Roncesvalles street-.

This year's event was dedicated to legumes. For this reason, the future dieticians-nutritionists and professionals of high school showed the public - between12 and 14 h. and between 16 and 20 h. - different types of legumes (raw and cooked), detailed their properties and made available different recipes for their preparation. They also gave advice on nutrition and healthy habits.

The goal of the workshop, as Elena Gascón -president of CODINNA- points out, consisted of "reminding the population that eating healthy is not a matter of including exotic superfoods in our per diem expenses , but that in the patron saint of per diem expenses Mediterranean there are already very valuable products, from a nutritional point of view, which are also economical, accessible and are part of the traditional culinary culture of our environment, such as legumes".
