The University presents the 87 Talent Sports student-athletes
The program offers a comprehensive financial aid to students who combine programs of study university and sports in high performing

The University of Navarra has presented the 87 students who are part of Talento Deportivo. In a ceremony held at the recently inaugurated Jaizkibel (San Sebastian), Tomás Gómez-Acebo high school Mayor Jaizkibel (San Sebastián), Tomás Gómez-Acebo, Vice President of Alumni of the University, has welcomed them.
The program, which in this fifth edition has broken the record of applications, offers financial aid integral to students who combine the university degree program with the internship sports high performing.
Among the students participating this year are, among others, Miguel Olavide (player of C.A. Osasuna, First Division), Antonio Bazán (Anaitasuna handball player of the Asobal League, and of the Spanish Under 19 handball team), Paula Alcalde (of the Navarre Karate team, bronze medalist in the Spanish Championship and 7th in the European Championship), Francisco Javier Belzunce (from the Navarre Fencing National Team), Miren Andonegui (guide for blind alpine skiing and Spanish slalom champion), Eñaut Salaverría (from the Basque surfing team, with very good records in national and international competitions) and Lore Ugartemendía (synchronized swimming).
financial aid academic and sports counselingTalento Deportivo aims to make a university Education compatible with competitive sport; to respond to the training and professional needs of student-athletes; and to support and give personalized attendance to these students, in order to reduce the difficulties involved in development of a university degree program , complementary to their sports careers.
In exchange for joining the Program, participants are provided with a reinforcement of tutorial; the possibility of obtaining up to 2 credits ECTS credit per course; the entrance in the Nutrition and Sports Nutrition Program; a special physical maintenance plan; a continuous medical follow-up at Clínica Universidad de Navarra; a sports tutor -staff that guides them in their passage through the University; and a specific training plan through the Olympic programs of study Center.
