Two PhDs in Biology and Biochemistry from research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra will carry out a stay of training in centers of reference letter in the field of biotechnology and oncology in the Netherlands and France. These two agreements are financed by the department de Innovación, business and employment of the Government of Navarra, within the Innovanetworks action. The goal is to create a competitive research and development infrastructure that promotes the participation and implementation of international networks of research and development.

Astrid Pañeda is part of a project of research at business Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics (AMT), a center of reference letter in gene therapy. The study focuses on the development of viral vectors that induce a reduced immune system response. As he explains, "it would have numerous advantages for clinical application as it can reduce the viral dose and offer greater biosafety". This project of research is part of the partnership that AMT and CIMA have maintained since 2005.

On the other hand, Noelia Casares is working at Dr. Laurence Zitvogel's group at the Institut Gustave Roussy in Paris, a leading team in tumor immunology. Certain cancer vaccination processes can be impaired by the action of the cytokine TGF-beta. Noelia Casares' research addresses the use of inhibitory peptides of this cytokine (Digna patent) in different tumor models.
