Iván Peñuelas obtains the place of Senior Associate Professor in the area de Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology
The professor of Medicine and Pharmacy is graduate in Biological Sciences from the University of Navarra (1990).
Iván Peñuelas is graduate in Biological Sciences from the University of Navarra (1990), with award Extraordinary, and graduate in Pharmacy from the same University (1993). He holds a PhD in Sciences (1993) and is a pharmacist specializing in Radiopharmacy. He has made stays at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, USA (1993), the Bereich Zyklotron und Radiopharmazie, Radiologische Klinik und Strahleninstitut of the University of Hamburg (1996) and UCLA in Los Angeles (2002).
Professor Peñuelas has been teaching at teaching since 1990 at the University and is currently a professor at Schools of Medicine and Pharmacy. He joined the Nuclear Medicine service of the Clinic as partner technician in 1995 and has been consultant Radiopharmacist since 2002. He is currently director of the Clinic's PET Radiopharmacy unit and laboratory PET GMP.
She carries out her clinical and research activity in the Nuclear Medicine service of the Clinic and in the research MicroPET unit at CIMA, where she has been director since 2004. She is tutor of the Radiopharmacy residents since the accreditation of the unit professor of Radiopharmacy in 2008.
He has also published more than 45 articles on research in international journals and is co-author of 9 books and more than 80 communications to national and international congresses. International Associate publisher of the journal Molecular Imaging and Biology. He has also participated in more than 30 publicly funded research projects in national and European competitive calls (9 of them as researcher principal). He participates in two FIS networks (cancer and cell therapy) and in several clinical trials. In the field of assessment of official projects he is an evaluator of the Spanish Agency for Evaluation and Projection (ANEP).
Dr. Peñuelas is a member of the committee General of Specializations in Health Sciences and of the National Commission of the specialization program of Radiopharmacy, of which he was also president. He was a member of the committee General of Pharmaceutical Specializations until its dissolution. He has also been an expert of the group of Radiopharmaceuticals of the Royal Spanish Pharmacopoeia and of the group 14 (Radioactive Compounds) of the European Pharmacopoeia.
Finally, he is a member of the Radiopharmacy Committee of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine and of the Executive committee of the group PET of the Spanish Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and has also been a member of the board Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Radiopharmacy.
