Ignacio Arellano, director of the group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the School of Philosophy y Letras of the University, has taught at the Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru) a seminar dedicated to chronicles of the Indies and viceroyalty texts.

Arellano, Honorary Professor of the Peruvian institution, offered two sessions: "Textual itineraries in chronicles of the Indies and viceregal texts: essay panoramic" and "Two significant examples: Caviedes and Rosas de Oquendo". In both conferences, and in the debates that followed them, questions related both to the interpretation of viceregal literature (its weight in the Hispanic century production) and to the edition of the texts that form this corpus were raised: editorial criteria, lexical and contextual challenges, ideological interferences, etc.

The lectures, which took place at the research center of the Universidad del Pacífico (CIUP), were attended by professors from the Language and History academic Departments of the Universidad del Pacífico and other colleagues from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
