The students of high school diploma who trained at the University of Navarra for the International Biology Olympiad have won a silver medal and two bronze medals at the meeting held in Switzerland from July 14 to 21.
The students Diego Ors, from IES San Blas in Alicante (Silver); Quim Llorens, from high school IPSI in Barcelona (Bronze); and Andrea Laguillo, from IES Javier Orbe Cano in Los Corrales de Buelna in Cantabria (Bronze), received an intensive week-long training at School of Sciences and research center Applied Medicine (CIMA), where they attended workshops and theoretical lectures focused on the agenda of the test.
This preparation was part of the award obtained by the finalists of the national phase, which also included four other Spanish students who will attend the Ibero-American Biology Olympiad, from September 1 to 7 in Argentina.
A total of 240 students from 60 countries participated in the international phase of the Olympiad.
