On Monday, August 29th, School received the 213 students that make up the LXIX graduating class. The new students come from 15 different countries such as Germany, United Kingdom, Qatar, Iran, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Poland, Turkey, Brazil or China, among others, and all the Spanish provinces. Half of them will study the Degree in Medicine + International Program. This is the third promotion since the implementation of the new Study program adapted to international standards and which has the International Quality Seal of the World Federation for Medical Education.

On their first day, the students participated in a workshop where different professors from School introduced them to their university life. "Here you do not come just to learn Medicine, but your purpose has to be to learn to be good doctors who put all their effort to the service of others," reminded Dr. Marta Ferrer, dean of the School. "In addition, always remember the effort your families have made so that today you can begin this wonderful stage at the University of Navarra; live up to that effort by giving the best of yourselves every day," she remarked.

For his part, Dr. Alfredo Gea, Associate Dean for students, reminded the new students of the leading role they have in their training as physicians: "Being the protagonist of the story you are starting today has some important implications. Therefore, throughout the Degree, be proactive, define very well what you want your goal to be and always be accompanied, both by your classmates and by the professors of the School, who want to walk with you on the path that you are starting today".

In addition, Dr. Ruben Pío, coordinator first year, detailed to the students his role as link with the academic staff and reviewed the main new features of the calendar during the first weeks, as well as other practical issues.

Learning styles and methodologies 3.0

After a break to meet their advisors and listen to advice and tips from upperclassmen at roundtable, Dr. Cristina Carretero, from the Medical Education Unit, helped the new students determine their learning style staff in order to get the most out of each subject. "Knowing what you are like and how you study financial aid helps us professors to combine different methodologies to make your learning much more personalized, meaningful and deep".

In the afternoon, professors Pío and Pérez-Mediavilla introduced the students to the dynamics of the classes and the way of working as a team, which they will practice in the first subject, "From the molecule to the cell".
