president María Iraburu has appointed Manuel Alegre as Associate Dean of faculty and postgraduate program of the School of Medicine, replacing José Ignacio Herrero.
Manuel Alegre is a graduate (1994) and doctor (2002) in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Navarra, and a specialist in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. He is currently the director of the Neurophysiology Service of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. He is Senior Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Clinical training and Medical Education Unit of the School of Medicine. He is the author of more than a hundred articles in scientific journals (more than a third of them in the first quartile).
The Dean of the School of Medicine, Marta Ferrer, thanks José Ignacio Herrero for his work at the head of the faculty, especially in relation to the change of the Study program that the School launched six years ago. "Ignacio has been a fundamental piece in the scaffolding that has supported the design and implementation of the Integrated Curriculum, establishing the clinical and pathological foundations on which today the subjects of the higher courses are based".
"His wisdom and serenity, together with that enigmatic ability to be in several places at the same time - because he has not yet revealed to us the secret of the multiplication of time - have been a constant example for everyone, especially in the performance of less visible but absolutely essential tasks. This is the case of conference proceedings, which have never before received more attention. But perhaps one of his most valuable legacies has been his encouragement and support to so many professors who, thanks to his support, have been able to advance in the academic degree program .
