The University has been awarded the European Commission's seal of excellence in research

The University of Navarra has obtained the Human Resources Strategy for research (HRS4R) quality seal, awarded by the European Commission. agreement This distinction recognizes institutions that generate a stimulating and favorable environment for work of research, ensuring that the recruitment processes for researchers are open, transparent and merit-based, in accordance with the principles set out in the European Charter of researcher and the Code of Conduct. At present, 554 organizations in Europe have received this seal. In Spain, 125 institutions have obtained it, of which 35 are universities.

"It is a recognition that positions us at a European level, in terms of quality criteria, while increasing the visibility of the University at an international level, and helps us financial aid to attract and retain talent. In addition, it is core topic for a university like ours, very active in programs of research, as it reinforces the commitment we have made for the internationalization of the research and innovation", said the Vice President of research, Iciar Astiasarán.

The European Charter of researcher and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, together with the 40 principles defined, are tools for their achievement. "This seal values its monitoring and highlights the work carried out at the University in this regard, as an institution that does its work well and enhances the degree program of our researchers. It is also committed to ensuring that the development of the research is governed by ethical principles at all stages," he added. 

The University of Navarra currently employs 1,197 researchers, distributed in 112 groups in different fields: Biomedicine and Health; Humanities and Social Sciences; Architecture, Technical Sciences and design; and Experimental Sciences, Environment and Sustainability.
