The project Healthy University, promoted by the School of Nursing of the University of Navarra, will perform measurements of expired carbon monoxide tomorrow, Thursday, October 31, from 9 to 14h and from 16h to 19h.
This activity aims to recruit volunteers to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a smoking cessation program for university students between the ages of 18 and 24. It will take place at entrance hall of Amigos Building and Sciences Building, where information tables will be set up.
To take part in this study, it is necessary to smoke at least one cigarette a week. Volunteers must attend two or four face-to-face sessions (depending on group I and II), over six months, during the 2013-2014 academic year. The estimated total duration of the sessions is between 2 and 4 hours.
Those interested in participating can contact contact with the project team by e-mail at unsaludable@unav.es or at the information tables.
The initiative is part of the project Healthy University, which for years has been promoting healthy lifestyle habits among students and employees of the academic center, and has managed to eliminate the exhibition to environmental tobacco smoke. In this sense, it is one of the pioneering universities in Spain in carrying out health promotion activities of this subject.
