Together with Manuel Martín Ferrand and Iñaki Gabilondo (and, later, Juan José García Noblejas), he initiated the radio and television programs of study at School of Communication. In Pamplona, he directed the construction and start-up of the first radio studio created in a Spanish university in 1965.
He also contributed with a solid research work, reflected in the direction of doctoral thesis , the consultancy service media, participation in conferences and editorial boards of journals, and numerous publications.
His books include "La ciencia periodística de Otto Groth" (1966); "La radio: introducción a un medio desconocido" (1974), which was the first guide dedicated to explaining the language of radio and which had a second corrected edition in 1981; "La información televisiva y su tecnología" (1980); "La era audiovisual: historia de los primeros cien años de la radio y la televisión" (1995); and, most recently, "La radio en España. Una historia documental" (2007), the first part of an exhaustive documentary work on which he was still working.
Faus Belau started Radio Universidad de Navarra, which began broadcasting at test on September 29, 1999. A pioneer among university radio stations in Spain, it has also been a breeding ground for dozens of professionals in the media.
