Use of cookies
The University of Navarra has written this web page to inform you in detail and transparently about the use of cookies in its web environment.
A "cookie" is a small file that is downloaded to the Username device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) allowing the manager website to recognize users between sessions, obtain information about their browsing habits or personalize the way in which content is displayed to them.
The legislation of protection of data considers cookies data personal, that the University treats with the consent that you have expressed through the Privacy Preference Center, and that you can withdraw at any time from that same link. You can also exercise the other rights mentioned in the Privacy Policy.
The following is a description of the categories of cookies that are used in the University's web environment, so that you can select which ones to use and which ones not to use, configuring them for each purpose. If you select the "allow all" button in the Privacy Preference Center, you agree to the use of all categories of cookies.
Types of cookies
According to their purpose:
Technical Cookies: These include basic functions, such as identifying the session, storing information to allow the broadcasting of video or sound, or giving registered users access to restricted areas. They are necessary for the web page to provide a correct service, for this reason they must always be active and cannot be deactivated.
Statistical Cookies: These are used to study how users interact with the website, gathering anonymous information with the purpose of introducing improvements based on the analysis of the aggregated data , for example, quantifying the accesses to the different pages, sections, etc. They can be activated or deactivated through the Privacy Preference Center.
Personalization Cookies: They allow to remember the choices of each Username when you visit the page again, for example, the language, the region from which you access, the issue of results to display when you perform a search, the appearance or content of the service, etc. They can be enabled or disabled through the Privacy Preference Center.
Marketing or advertising cookies: These are used to analyze the behavior of users while they visit the website and to be able to offer them personalized products and services that the University considers relevant, based on their browsing habits. They can be enabled or disabled through the Privacy Preference Center.
Depending on the entity that manages them:
Own Cookies: These are those managed by the University, generally from the servers or domains where the service requested by Username is provided.
Third-party cookies: These are cookies managed by an entity other than the University (a "third party" in legal language) whose services have been added to the University's pages. In some cases, when accepting third-party cookies, you will have to delete them from the browser options or from the system offered by the third party itself. Also in certain cases there are international transfers of data (i.e. sending cookies to countries that, in the opinion of the European Commission, do not enjoy privacy guarantees equivalent to those of European countries), in which case the legal basis for the transfer of data is indicated in the description of the cookies.
According to the deadline of time they remain active
Session Cookies: These are temporary and perform their function during the time you are browsing.
Persistent (or permanent) Cookies: They are stored in the device and are sent to the web each time a new visit is made. A persistent cookie has an expiration date and will stop working after that date.
Below is a description of the cookies used in the University environment grouped by purpose.
