In the academic year 2020-21 the financial status of the University has returned to a certain normality, although the exceptional health status had an influence on the evolution of the main economic variables.
*University results shown for the academic years 2018-2019, 2019-20 and 2020-21 include: Campus in Pamplona (academic centres and CIMA); Campus in Madrid; Campus in San Sebastian (Tecnun and CEIT), IESE (Barcelona, Madrid, New York and Munich) and Clínica (Pamplona and Madrid campuses).
Income from the University's activities
The University's operating result for the 2020-21 academic year was again positive:18 million euros compared to a loss of 11.5 million euros in the previous academic year. The financial result was also positive: 5.6 million euros and the final result reached 23.6 million euros, an increase of 297% compared to the 12 million losses of the previous academic year.
Income from the activity grew to 557 million euros, an increase of 57 million euros (+11%). Particularly significant is the income generated by welfare activities: 271 million euros compared to 216 million euros the previous year (+25%), thanks to the increase in activity at both the Pamplona and Madrid campuses.
On the other hand, professor saw a reduction of 7 million euros in income. Although there has been an increase in the number of students in the official programs of study -Degree, Master's Degree and doctorate-, the pandemic affected the courses aimed at companies and managers.
Expenditure on the University's activities
Operating expenses amounted to 539 million euros, an increase of 27.4 million euros(+5% over the previous year) due to increased activity professor, and care at the Clínica's Pamplona and Madrid sites.
The expenses of staff reached 301.4 million euros, an increase of 8.7 million (+3%), and the activity expenses amounted to 211 million euros, 17.5 million more than the previous year(+9%).
