ACADEMIC TALENT
The witness of knowledge
Teresa, Janire, Matheus and Gabriela are setting the pace for their doctorate. At a steady pace, and with a large dose of enthusiasm and effort, they took the baton from their teachers to reach the goal of the academic degree program . Pablo and Marisol, who have already crossed that line, are the final reflection that every step, every meter taken, is worth it. Academic talent that is transmitted and multiplied.
From 1st Street, Teresa Álvarez faces a new stage. A little more than a month ago she started her doctorate in the department of Bromatology of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition. It was not an easy decision and the goal still seems far away, but she is motivated by the illusion of taking on new challenges. Above all, because she knows that she is not running alone.
"I would encourage those who are thinking about pursuing a doctorate to talk to professors who do research in the areas they are interested in and learn first-hand what the day-to-day life of this stage consists of."

Janire Ruiza second-year doctoral student at ICS (research in Education and Psychology), knows this: challenges are part of the journey. However, far from slowing her down, each one pushes her forward, stronger and more confident in her goal.
Matheus Pedra is nearing the home stretch. He plans to defend his thesis at the School of Engineering - Tecnun, after years of work, effort and perseverance. He looks back and recognizes that it has not been an easy road, but each stage has prepared him for what is to come.
"After defending my thesis , I think I will continue with my academic life, mainly in the area of research, and also in teaching, because I can transmit everything I have learned during these years to prospective students".

Gabriela Fajardo is also about to cross the goal. A doctoral candidate at the School of Law, she is facing the last months before defending her thesis . Each step has taught her something new, and now she approaches the end of the journey with the same confidence and motivation with which she started this academic degree program .
Crossing the goal is just the beginning
And then there are those who have already crossed the goal. Pablo Castrilloa professor at the School of Communication, and Marisol Aymerich, professor at the School of Science, emphasize the idea of teaching and working with people and ideas. For Pablo, the constant challenge is to try to make new what is repeated every year; for Marisol, every day is the challenge of making the difficult easy, so that students understand what she wants to transmit. The goal is not only to finish the doctorate, but to continue learning and accompanying others on their journey.
