Institute for Culture and Society: participation in activities of other centers and universities (February 2018)
Researchers and collaborators participated in activities in Spain, the United States, Finland, France, Holland, India, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Portugal and Rwanda.
Emotional culture and identity
Rocio Davis participated in the congress 'Southwest Popular Culture Association' with the paper 'Emotions and History in Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton' (Albuquerque, USA 7-10/02/2018).
Creativity and Cultural Heritage
Julia Pavón attended the congress 'The Latin east in the 13th Century - Institutions, settlements and material culture' in Haifa, where he presented a paper "Thinking about the Holy Land and crusading in the Crown of Aragon and Navarre (XII th Century)", together with Professor Maria Bonet Donato (Haifa, Israel, 31/01-02/02/2018).
Public discourse
Manuel Casado participated, as a corresponding academic, in the Judeo-Spanish Academic Convention organized by the Royal Spanish Academy (Madrid, 19-20/02/2018).
Ruth Breeze presented the plenary lecture 'You can be a great communicator! Self-help guides to workplace communication, and how to survive them' at the XXXVIII International VAKKI Symposium at the University of Vaasa, (Vaasa, Finland, 8-9/02/2018).
Inés Olza carried out a short visit of research al Netherlands Institute for Advanced Studies (NIAS), where he worked on planning activities and development of the project CREATIME, (Amsterdam, Netherlands, 3-7/02/2018).
Carmen Llamas Saíz offered the communication 'What is ours? Some data for the analysis of the (populist) speech of the new politics in Spain' at the International Conference Words, Images and Ideology of Populism 3.0, (Naples Italy, 23-24/02/2018).
Education of human affectivity and sexuality
Jokin de Irala presented the project at high school Montessori and at CEU (Salamanca 16/02/2018 and Vitoria 20/02/2018).

Fran Güell y Sonsoles Navarro-Rubio attended the ESHRE Campus symposium 'Council of Europe meeting' (Strasbourg, France 22-23/02/2018).
Gonzalo Arrondo y Carlos García Roda participated in the workshop of work for the creation of a network of research on frustration tolerance in the framework of a application of project European COST at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. (Barcelona, 22/02/2018).
José Víctor Orón made a stay at UPAEP during the month of February to support the research in Education emotional. There she carried out several activities: she presented the project UpToYou, offered 40 hours of training UpToYou, met with centers of programs of study family and services of advisory service and accompaniment with students with difficulties and offered a lecture at the Anahuac University on neuroscience and faith. (Puebla and Anahuac, Mexico, 1-28/02/2018).
Navarra Center for International Development
Alex Armand made several visits from work to Rwanda and India:
- Met with the DR Congo Data collection team in Rwanda (Rwanda, 12-15/02/2018).
- Traveled to Lucknow to work on project of community latrines in informal settlements (Lucknow, India, 16-22/02/2018).
Joseph Gomes continues with his stay as researcher visitor at the Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona).
ATLANTES Programme
Carlos Centeno y Carla Reigada attended the First International Palliative Care congress at the University of Castelo Branco. There, Carlos Centeno dictated the Opening lecture with the degree scroll "The progress of Palliative Care: Where are we going?" and participated in the roundtable "Family Support" with the session "Compassion, heart of health professionals". For her part, Carla Reigada offered the session "Fundamental strategies of assessment and planning in PC". (Castelo Branco, Portugal, 23-24/02/2018)
In addition, Centeno traveled to Italy to participate in the '1st PAL-LIFE Congress "Palliative Care: Everywhere & by Everyone. Palliative Care in Every Region. Palliative Care in Every Religion or Belief', where he participated with the discussion paper 'White paper for global palliative care advocacy' in the roundtable 'PAL-LIFE activities and perspectives'. She also moderated the session 'The value of palliative care' together with Liliana De Lima and attended the meeting of PAL-LIFE experts (Rome, Italy, 28/02-1/03/2018).
Eduardo Garralda traveled to Barcelona to work for project HISPAL, where he interviewed Xavier Gómez-Batiste and Josep Porta Sales at high school Catalan Oncology. (Barcelona, 2/02/2018).
Communication
Isabel Solana made a one-week stay with scholarship Erasmus + at the Glasgow and Dumfries campus of the University of Glasgow. There she met with various people working in communication, fundraising, linking with society, dissemination of the research... and the End of Life Studies Group, whose director is researcher visitor of ATLANTES. Precisely, the stay was possible thanks to the close relationship of this group of the ICS with the EoLSG. He also met with communications people from the Glasgow Science Centre and the Centre for Contemporary Arts.
