The School of Theology of the University of Navarra celebrated on Saturday, May 27, the end of the graduation ceremony degree program of 74 of its students: 44 are part of the LV promotion of licentiate degree in Theology and 30 of the LVII promotion of high school program in Theology.

Professor Juan José Silvestre was the sponsor chosen by the students of both graduating classes. In his speech he thanked them for this gesture, only a year after arriving from Rome, and encouraged them to keep their eyes fixed on the saints, who knew how to unite their teachings to their way of life: "They are true sages who opened themselves with novelty to the greatness of God". He also reminded them of the importance of prayer and of living with humility and joy the limitations of each one of us. He gave as an example some words that St. Josemaría, founder of the university, used to say to the students who were finishing their studies at programs of study: "Do not be supermen, but super humble.

Alberto Sánchez Feria and José Antonio Echevarría spoke on behalf of the students and thanked the professors, the University, their families and their classmates for everything they had experienced during their years at training in Pamplona.

Professor Gregorio Guitián, Dean of the School, closed the end of degree program. In his words, he explained to the students why the Church dedicates so much effort to the study of Theology and told them that investing time in knowing and transmitting the truth and love of God is a gift that the Lord gives them. He also emphasized that "ignorance of the truth and love of God leads to obscurity" and encouraged them to maintain the purpose to always continue their formation in Theology. For this he gave the example of Professor Jose Morales, who died this year, who said that he was not a theologian, but that he studied theology.

In conclusion, he reminded them of their new status as alumni of School and invited them to carry the University in their hearts when they return to their home countries: "You are now our best ambassadors in the world".
