The catechism of St. Peter Canisius
seminar of professors at School of Theology
Rafael Zafraresearcher , group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the University of Navarra, gave a lecture on November 20 at the seminar for teachers of the School of Theology.
The topic of the session was: "The Catechism of St. Peter Canisius: one of the pillars of the Catholic Reformation and the culture of the Baroque". In it he explained how it influenced the ways of thinking and the culture of the Catholic world from the late Renaissance until recent times, and the reasons why such an important book has remained somewhat on the margins of the programs of study of the period in the Hispanic sphere.
Professor Zafra also presented his recently published critical edition of the Spanish versions of this work, and presented the main results of his work research.
