The University of Navarra celebrated on May 30 the graduation of the 54 students of the XVII Promotion of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, some programs of study that in this 2014-2015 celebrate their 25th anniversary.

The sponsor of the event, held at the University of Navarra Museum, was Dr. Javier Aranceta, Professor of Community Nutrition and President of the Scientificcommittee of the Spanish Society of Community Nutrition. In his speech he reminded the new graduates of "the current importance of dietary adequacy as a health-promoting tool ". "In morbidity and mortality statistics we can observe that cardiovascular diseases and cancer are the first causes of premature loss of health. In both cases the per diem expenses plays a fundamental role in their prevention and treatment," he pointed out. After explaining some of the current challenges facing the dietitian-nutritionist, Professor Aranceta encouraged the attendees to develop their work with enthusiasm, since "it seems clear that your professional work is necessary and timely".

Afterwards, the delegates Alfredo Heredia and Iván Beltrán said a few words of thanks with which they alluded to the complete training received at the University of Navarra.

The event was chaired by the dean of the School, Adela López de Cerain, who was accompanied by the Associate Dean Alumni, Alberto Pérez Mediavilla; Professor Itzíar Zazpe; and the vice president of the high school Official Dietitians and Nutritionists of Navarra, Claudia Urdangarín.
