On September 1, the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition welcomed the 184 new students who will begin this year's programs of study at Degree. Of these, 98 will take the Degree in Pharmacy, 48 will study Human Nutrition and Dietetics, while 38 will take the double Degree. In addition, 18 students are enrolled in the Diploma in Sports Nutrition, 10 in the International Nutrition Certificate and 16 in the International Pharmaceutical Certificate.

The new students come from 30 Spanish provinces and 17 different countries such as Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, the Philippines, Spain, the United States, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.

"From today you are already university students and that implies being something more. We have to know and know very well what is happening in the world, also in our healthcare field, in order to form an opinion and be able to answer the questions that are asked of us," reminded the dean of the School, Mª Javier Remírez. "For this reason, at the University we will accompany you on this exciting journey that you are starting now so that you can be the real protagonists of your learning. Our goal is that, when you finish and go out into the world to help society, you will be sad to leave School , which is already your home". 

For her part, the Vice-Dean of Students, Silvia de Carlos, invited the students to make the most of their time at campus: "Just starting university is a big change for you: what you are today will change day by day in every way, professionally, academically and personally. Each one of you arrives with specific circumstances but you all have the same goal: to become great pharmacists and nutritionists to take care of and give the best service to society. Today you are starting to put the instructions for that".

During the workshop, the students were able to learn about the organization of the School, their advisors and course coordinators. In addition, they had the testimony of students from higher courses, who gave some keys to face this new stage successfully.
