The Heideggerian reformulation of the problem of freedom' in the I National colloquium of the Ibero-American Society of programs of study Heideggerianos (SIEH) 'Heidegger, forty years after his death'. organized at the School of Philosophy and Letters of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (Mexico, 04/04/2016). He also dictated the lecture 'Identidad internship' at the School of Philosophy of the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (Mexico, 05/04/2016).

Rocio Davis attended the Association for Asian American Studies Conference in Miami, where he presented 'Gaming Avatars and Racial Identifications: Empathetic Strategies in In Real Life' (USA, 4/27/2016). 

 

Madalena d'Oliveira-Martins gave the session 'Para uma NOVA sociologia das emoções: as propostas de Arlie R. Hochschild' at AESE in Lisbon, in addition to presenting the Master's Degree at research in Social Sciences at the same center (Portugal).
 

Constatin Parvulescu gave the Graduate Seminar graduate 'The New Barbarians: Cinema and Migration to Fortress Europe' at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland, 11-14/04/2016).

 

Public discourse

Inés Olza gave two sessions in the Spanish Phraseology Course organized by the department of language Spanish and General Linguistics of the University of Murcia. They were entitled: 'Anything new to say about Phraseology? Recent perspectives of analysis after the consolidation of the discipline' and 'Porque hablar no es solo decir palabras: fraseología, corpus orales y multimodalidad' (Murcia, 11-20/04/2016).

Jan Zienkowski co-directed the symposium '(Critical) Discourse analysis and theory in Flanders and in the Netherlands' at Universiteit Antwerpen (Belgium, 20/04/2016).

Javier Sánchez Cañizares gave a session on 'Is Compatibilism Compatible with the Existence of EPR-like Quantum Correlations?' at the congress The Science of Consciousness organized by the University of Arizona Center for Consciousness Studies and the University of Michigan Center for Consciousness Science in Arizona (USA, 25-30/04/2016).

Luis Echarte presented, together with Denis Larrivee and Tomasz Stepien, the poster 'The Medium and the Message: The Transformed and the Transformative in Shifting Body Imagery' at the Critical Juncture Conference, held at Emory University in Atlanta (USA, 8-9/04/2016).
 

Fran Güell participated in the lecture 'Hacia una implementación eficaz de la interdisciplina en la universidad' organized and offered to the board of Governing Body of the University Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (Mexico, 12/04/2016).

In addition, he taught the course 'Difficulties of the Humanities for the scientific understanding of life. An interdisciplinary discussion', in the framework of the diploma holder 'Current challenges of science from an interdisciplinary approach ' (Mexico, 12/04/2016). Within this same diploma holder, he also gave the courses 'Theories about the origin of life on Earth. Open scientific-philosophical problems' (Mexico, 14/04/2016), 'Philosophical approaches on the boundaries between the inert and the living' (Mexico, 19/04/2016) and 'Biology of development and characterization of the living: scientific exhibition and open philosophical questions' (Mexico, 21/04/2016). Within the diploma holder of Human training for the faculty of the Universidad Anahuac Puebla he taught the course 'The person and the care of life' (Mexico, 29/04/2016).

The researcher also participated in the symposium 'Philosophy and Biology. Claves para una aproximación Interdisciplinar fructífera' with the lecture 'Problemas entorno a la aproximación interdisciplinar a la unidad del viviente' held at the conference room José Luis Rodríguez Alconedo de la Casa de la Cultura de Puebla (Mexico, 18/04/2016).

Finally, he delivered the lecture 'Gregorio Mendel y las leyes de la herencia' at the Chair Ciencia y Fe of the School of Humanities of the Universidad Anahuac Norte in Mexico City (Mexico, 04/20/2016).

Joseph Gomes gave the seminar 'Maternal Mortality and Female Life Expectancy: The Importance of Gender Inequality' at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Madrid, 29/04/2016).

 

Godfrey Madigu participated in the lecture Euro-Africaine en Finance et Économie'. in Marseille, where he presented the paper 'Inflation convergence in the East African community: A fractional integration and cointegration study' (France, 31/04/2016- 01/05/2016).

ATLANTES Programme

Carlos Centeno participated as speaker in the Symposium on Palliative Medicine 4D: Delirium, Dyspnea, Pain and Ethical Dilemmas at the end of life'.organized by the Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado School of Health Sciences "Dr. Luis Edmundo Vásquez"; the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) ATLANTES Program and the association of Bioethics of El Salvador, which was held in San Salvador (El Salvador, 11-12/04/2016). Within the symposium, he gave two lectures with the titles 'Management of Difficult Pain' and 'Delirum in Palliative Care' and participated in a simultaneous workshop with the degree scroll session 'An atypical opioid: Methadone'.

On the other hand, he also gave the session 'Ethics in the care of the chronically ill', an activity organized by the association de Bioética de El Salvador (ABIOES) (El Salvador, 12/04/2016).

In addition, he participated in the VIII Latin American Palliative Care congress organized by the Latin American Palliative Care association where he gave the session 'Education: design of training activities in Palliative Care' and participated in the meeting with Experts with the session 'Seizure Management'. He also gave the conferences 'How to generate integrality and multidisciplinarity from the Education?' and 'Atlas of PC: update regional' (Mexico, 14-16/04/2016).

Carlos Centeno y Antonio Noguera participated in the Advanced Palliative Care Teachers Course training, organized by the Institute for Culture and Society and the Vianorte-Laguna Foundation and held in Madrid (Madrid, 06-09/04/2016).

Carlos Centeno y Eduardo Garralda attended the InSup-C Executive Board & General Assembly which took place at Lancaster University. In addition, Carlos Centeno gave the session 'ATLANTES Research Program. Researching palliative care from the humanities and social sciences in the University of Navarra' at the International Observatory for End of Life Care of the same University (UK, 18-19/04/2016).

María Arantzamendi  participated in the 'Horizon 2020 Family Carer proposal', a work session with Palliative Care experts held in Bruges (Belgium, 06-07/04/2016).
