Setting up a school, restoring and rehabilitating churches, working with children and the elderly, or simply giving the best of themselves, are some of the tasks that hundreds of University students will carry out this summer in volunteer work in different parts of the world. "It has been the best way to end the exam period and start the vacations," said Inés Valiente, a first-year student of Pedagogy, a few days after returning from volunteer activities of the CET Igea in Burgos.

Maria Guibert, a student of Philosophy, has been in Sierra Leone for a few days. She teaches catechesis at a high school: "I would like to refund at least a part of what I have received", she explained hours before her departure. "The main thing is to give them a lot of joy," she concluded.

Pablo Panadero has just finished his 5th year of Medicine. Next summer he will be immersed in the preparation of spanish medical residency program, "so this year I decided to do something different and special". He asked some of his colleagues at class and committed himself to travel to Sierra Leone. He has been there since June 1, spending enquiry with the sick and doing humanitarian work.

Until the new academic year begins, they have two months ahead of them. Their interests are different and their destinations are quite disparate, but all of them, from the fields of science and literature, will give the best of themselves during the summer helping people in need.
