Myriam Ciordia, postgraduate of the Master's Degree at research, development e Innovación de Medicamentos of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra, was awarded a prize at the 2015 Italo-Spanish Pharmacologycongress .
She was awarded for her poster result of her doctoral research on Alzheimer's disease. Under the degree scroll 'Novel CF3-containing pyrrolidones as amidine-based BACE1 inhibitors', her work delves into the design, synthesis and assessment biological of new inhibitors of an enzyme involved in Alzheimer's disease, the β-secretase BACE1.
The meeting, sponsored by the magazine `ChemMedChem', was organized by the Spanish Society of Chemistry Therapeutics and the Divisione di Chimica Farmaceutica Società chimica Italiana (members of the European Federation of Chemistry Medicinal - EFMC). It was held in Barcelona last July.
