Living Forever brings a new look at the disease, in this case a leukemia that does not put an end to the dreams of a teenager clinging to life. It is the film adaptation of the novel This Is Not Fair, a work by English writer Sally Nichols. The film is shot in the north of England and is the second film made by Gustavo Ron, who debuted in 2006 with the feature film Mia Sarah.
