Nutrition, hydration and physical activity are the focus of the discussion of a hundred experts at the University.
The conference of update in Nutrition has brought together 1,200 dietitians-nutritionists from all over Spain during its ten editions.
The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition of the University of Navarra celebrates, this Friday and Saturday May 6 and 7, the tenth edition of its conference of update in Nutrition, which this year will bring together a hundred experts to discuss the latest advances in precision nutrition, hydration and physical activity.
The talks, round tables and coaching sessions will have nutrition and hydration in common but focused in each case on ordinary physical activity, moderate exercise and competitive sport, as each of them has different requirements.
As explained by director, Full Professor and CIBERobn member Alfredo Martínez, "we are going to analyze under what circumstances physical activity contributes to the maintenance of health, exercise -when programmed- can be used to treat disease, and how nutrition and hydration are closely related to professional sports performance".
Speakers include Ángel Gil, president of the Ibero-American Nutrition Foundation (FINUT), who will explain the importance of hydration in programmed physical activity; Juan José Beunza, director of the Education Interprofessional Program and internship Collaborative of the European University of Madrid, who will offer a coaching session on the change of physical activity in patients after a clinical intervention.
In addition, alumna Ainhoa Prieto, a sports nutritionist at Leeds Beckett University, will present her experience with the Liverpool women's team, where she participated in the development of a nutritional plan for female athletes.
Other round tables will focus on current issues such as nutritional supplements for athletes, the evaluation nutritional and dietary adjustment according to physical exercise, exercise and antioxidants or hydration products.
Throughout its ten editions, these conference, aimed at nutrition professionals, have brought together more than 200 professors and 1,200 professionals who have studied in depth topics such as nutrition and women, functional foods and personalized nutrition.
