LIFE+RESPIRA launches the 1st "Cycling around the city" photo contest for World Environment Day
The project, led by the University, is aimed at improving air quality in Pamplona.
The project LIFE+RESPIRA, led by the University of Navarra, has announced the I Photography Contest "En bici por la ciudad", with the goal of promote the use of bicycles as a means of urban transport.
The participating photographs should have as a motif the use of bicycles in the city, in any of its many facets. The call has been launched on the occasion of the celebration of World Environment Day, which is commemorated on June 5.
Participants will have the chance to win prizes such as a bicycle worth 500 euros (first place) or a camera worth 300 euros (second place). Images may be entered until September 30 and the contest is open to anyone over 16 years of age.
volunteer activities The project LIFE+RESPIRA, which has a cycling team of 150 people, is aimed at improving the quality of the air breathed by pedestrians and cyclists in Pamplona.
In addition to the University of Navarra, in the project participate the public business management Ambiental de Navarra (GANASA), the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT) and the business Pavimentos Tudela (co-financier). Also collaborating are the Pamplona City Council, the Mancomunidad de la Comarca de Pamplona, the association Medios de Transporte Saludables (AMTS), the business Oraintxe and the Fundación Caja Navarra through CIVICAN.
The European Union's LIFE financial instrument supports all the actions that project will develop until 2017 in Pamplona, with the idea that the experience can be replicated in other cities.
How to participateTo participate in the contest, photographs must be uploaded to the official LIFE+RESPIRA Facebook page, using the application specifically designed for the contest, which will be active as of next Monday. In order to enter a work, the participant must first "Like" it.
Each participant may register up to a maximum of three photographs, with a degree scroll reflecting its content. Among the works submitted, the organization will make a selection of finalists that will be published on October 15.
