Procedural Learning Disorder approached from a multidisciplinary perspective.
Members of School and CUN participate in an international congress
Sara Magallón and Leyre Gambra, professor and Ph. School from Education and Psychology D. students from the University of Navarra, together with Nerea Crespo and Maite Gárriz, psychopedagogy and neuropediatrics from the University of Navarra. Clínica Universidad de Navarraparticipated in the IX International congress of Psychology and Education which took place on June 23rd at the University of La Rioja.
In it, they presented the symposium graduate Procedural Learning Disorder. Concept, assessment and intervention from a approach multidisciplinary . Nerea Crespo described the neuropsychological characteristics of Procedural Learning Disorder (PLD) and specified the differential diagnosis with other neurodevelopmental disorders. Maite Gárriz described the genetic features and the related brain areas, as well as the diseases that occur with this neuropsychological profile , in addition to describing the physical examination and pharmacological treatment.
On the other hand, Leyre Gambra and Sara Magallón addressed the psycho-pedagogical intervention in the disorder. Magallón focused on the motor part, describing the main instruments of assessment, approaches and intervention programs in motor skills while Gambra addressed the intervention in the rest of the affected areas both in the family and school environment, highlighting the need for a approach multidisciplinary and functional.
This symposium brought together numerous professionals such as school counselors and educational psychologists as well as family members of children with Procedural Learning Disorder.
