"You have come to train as future professionals in an activity that is at the service of others, to then refund to society a value, a final good that is to take care of people's health," said the dean of the School, María Javier Ramíerez, before inviting them to put on the white coat for the first time. "The gown is a symbol that you are starting a healthcare degree program . And you are putting it on now because from this moment on you are starting your work as pharmacists and dietitians-nutritionists".
For his part, Pedro González Muniesa, Associate Dean of students, noted the nerves among those who were beginning their university life: "I see many faces in which I think that right now nerves predominate over enthusiasm. From today, you have to have a passion for learning; don't go looking for grades, look to learn, do it well, and enjoy the journey," she encouraged. "Our great hope is that when you finish the degree program you will put the surname of the University of Navarra to this profession, so that employers will know where you come from because you have received a comprehensive and personalized training ."
During the workshop, the students were able to learn about the organization of the School, their advisors and course coordinators . In addition, they had the testimony of students from higher courses, who gave some keys to face this new stage successfully.
As a novelty this year, different professionals participated in two round tables in which they shared with the new students the needs of the sector and how, from the point of view of future employers, students can make the most of their years at training. Thus, in the roundtable dedicated to Pharmacy, Enrique Ordieres (CINFA), Cristina Agudo (Navarra Health Service) and Marta Galipienzo (committee General de Colegios Oficiales de Farmacéuticos) participated. Izaskun Arrarás (CODINNA), Patricia Álvarez (MKARE- group Calidad Pascual) and Gonzalo Eza (Nutri2) took part in the nutrition area .
