Jesús San Miguel presents Ham-Wasserman Lecture in San Francisco
He is the first Spaniard invited to present one of the plenary lectures at the American Society of Hematology's congress Annual Meeting.

Dr. Jesús San Miguel, Associate Dean of Clinical and Translational Medicine of the School of Medicine of the University of Navarra, is the first Spaniard invited to present at the Ham-Wasserman Lecture, one of the three plenary lectures of the congress Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology. The event will take place in San Francisco (USA) from December 6 to 9.
Dr. San Miguel will give a lecture at discussion paper entitled Multiple Myeloma: A Moderm Model for Scientific and Clinical Progress in which he will describe the biological complexity of myeloma cells and will comment on the need for further research in the identification of new prognostic factors for the disease, as well as tools to monitor the efficacy of treatment.
In this regard, he will discuss new methods to assess the depth of response to therapy, responses both inside and outside the bone marrow (minimal residual disease techniques) such as: immunophenotyping and molecular techniques.
The lecture will be presented next Saturday, December 6 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The Ham-Wasserman Lecture is held in honor of two famous past presidents of the American Hematology association , Drs. Ham and Wasserman.
