On Friday, March 16, the classroom 30 of the Central Building of the University of Navarra will host the XVI edition of the Foro de HumanitiesForum, a meeting organized by the students of this Degree of the School of Philosophy and Letters and that is directed to students of all the Schools. The main topic around which this edition of this meeting of students for students will revolve, which from this year has a biannual periodicity, will be the role of art in the understanding of today's world. In this interview, two of the organizers, Marianne Odio, a 3rd year student of Humanities, and Paula Aguadero, a 4th year student, tell us about congress.

The Forum is now in its 16th edition, how did you conceive this year's meeting (objectives...)?

Marianne: We believe this is another opportunity to make our department grow. I say 'ours' because it belongs to each one of us and we are the ones who want to see it grow and encourage the participation of all to carry out this project. The goal of this XVI edition of the Forum is that our colleagues can enjoy the topics that we have proposed, as well as to see germinate in them the concerns about art, which is the main topic of meeting.

But this would not have been possible without the financial aid of the board that has helped us to make real this desire that the department of Humanities be considered as important as it should be. In addition, I would like to thank our colleagues in charge for the financial aid and dedication during these months to make this project which is, above all, by students for students.

What has been the biggest challenge you have faced?

Marianne: I consider that the biggest challenge we have faced has been the commitment of each one of us with respect to this project, I mean, this congress is for each student, for his or her training integral and academic. Each one is manager to grow inward; I believe that the commitment to have made a conscientious work is reflected in the quality of project. This is how we have encouraged our classmates to awaken the concerns that the world makes present in our days to know, learn, investigate and go to those people who know more about topic to combat ignorance; and in this way we enforce our motto: Humanities for the world.

Let's talk about the program: throughout the workshop, we are going to find round tables, conferences, debates...

M: The program is made for all those who wish to learn about art and make it known. It has the particularity that this year, high level figures from knowledge of the subjects in general participate in the meeting , and beyond being 'one more congress ' it is made to enjoy and, therefore, to leave a mark in the world. Regarding the whole pathway from the morning to the afternoon, we wanted it to be, in a way, simple but of quality. As for the conferences, we will be accompanied by professors from the University of Navarra, among them Ricardo Piñero, Alberto Cañada and finally, a guest of a high level, such as Etsuro Sotoothe sculptor of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. On the other hand, we will have a roundtable entitled NGOs for culture and society. Four speakers will talk about their organizations and the impact they have left on the world. Finally, we will have a discussion, whose degree scroll is The complex definition of art that aims to try to understand what art means today and how it can be understood.

It is a meeting by students for students, why is it interesting for a student to attend, what can it bring?

PAULA: I think that attendance is important for several reasons. First of all, I consider it relevant that the students attend because it is a way to approach the world of congresses and, of course, to learn about a discipline that they themselves raised with us and in which they showed interest in deepening, which is the world of art. In addition, I think it is a way to thank the organization team for our time and dedication to it.

How can students register?

Q: Through a Googleform , which will be emailed to you a week before the event, around March 5. This form will also be shared through the University's social networks. The deadline of registration will close on March 12.

What has the organization of this forum brought to you?

Q: I consider it a more than positive experience, since it gives us, above all, experience for the working world, in which we may have to organize another subject similar event. In addition, it has taught us that work as a team is very important because we have to coordinate, and that, although it may seem the opposite, is quite complex because we all have to get together at agreement.
