The School of Nursing of the University of Navarra obtains the first place in the QS by Subject 2021 ranking (shared with the Universitat de Barcelona) after evaluating 1,453 universities worldwide and positioning the University of Navarra among the top 100 overall in Business Management and Administration (25th in the world), Accounting and Finance (45th), Philosophy (rank 51-100), Nursing (51-100) and Media Communication and programs of study (51-100).
For the dean of the School, Mercedes Pérez Díez del Corral, "obtaining this first position in the QS ranking is a reason to thank all the people who are part of the School for their serious, constant work , rewarded on this occasion with a very good position in this index by subject, but above all it is valuable because it impacts on each of the students we train and the whole society we serve".
In addition, "another reason to celebrate is the positioning in two of the four indicators that this ranking evaluates, referring to research (the 4 indicators are academic reputation, employer reputation, citations in articles in research and H index). This endorses the commitment and strategic bet of the School for this area, where we have a great potential for development".
Overall, according to the 2021 QS ranking by area, the University of Navarra is the best university in Spain in the areas of Accounting and Finance, Nursing, and Communication and programs of study. In addition, the University is second in Spain in Philosophy, Medicine, and Business Management and Administration.
The QS Subjects Rankings evaluate 5 main areas: Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Business Management. In this last area, the University of Navarra is 71st in the world. The ranking also offers the results in a total of 51 sub-areas, among which the University has been ranked in 15. This year it appears for the first time in the Psychology ranking, where it is seventh in Spain and ranks 251-300 in the world. It also obtained positions among the top 10 Spanish universities in Architecture (4), Law (5), Economics and Econometrics (5), Pharmacy and Pharmacology (6) and Art and design (7).
