The II Olympic Sports Week is celebrated

The events include a lecture by Olympic and world champion cyclist Joan Llaneras.

The II Olympic Sports Week will be held from next Monday, March 10. It includes a lecture, a children's drawing contest, a exhibition and a film screening.

The II Olympic Sports Week is organized by the Center of Olympic programs of study of the University of Navarra (CEO) in partnership with the City Council of Pamplona, the association Navarra de Clubes Colegiales Deportivos (ANACCOLDE), El Corte Inglés and Cines Itaroa. This initiative pursues a double goal: on the one hand, to promote the exchange of ideas on topics related to Olympism; and on the other hand, to disseminate the values of sport.

Civivox Iturrama will host, on Wednesday, March 12 at 20h., for the presentation of the 'Olympic Seal', a program open to schools, clubs and sports federations that during that day may adhere, thus receiving this recognition for their commitment to the dissemination and promotion of Olympic values. Afterwards, there will be a lecture on 'Values and sport' with the cyclist Joan Llaneras, Olympic and world champion. 

Drawing contest, until March 7

deadline On Friday, March 14, the awards ceremony for the children's drawing contest will take place at submission . The deadline for submitting entries is March 7. With the slogan 'What are the Olympic Games for you?', the competition has two categories. The first one for children from 6 to 9 years old (from 1st to 3rd grade of Primary School) and the second one for children from 10 to 12 years old (4th to 6th grade of Primary School). The technique is free and only one drawing per person may be submitted. The works are delivered in the Soccer Section of the Sports department of El Corte Inglés (5th floor). The submission of the awards of the two categories will begin at six o'clock in the afternoon. In addition, there will be an award for the school that has submitted the most drawings. This activity will be held on the 2nd floor of the El Corte Inglés building. In the same space it will be possible to see the exhibition with all the works submitted to the contest from March 10 to 29.

To end the week, on Saturday the 15th, at noon, 'Asterix at the Olympic Games' will be screened at the Itaroa Cinemas. There will also be a raffle with gifts. To attend to the film is necessary apply for invitations via email ceo@unav.es and then collect them at sports center of the University of Navarra. The invitations will be given in order of application. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The programs of study Olympic Center of the University of Navarra was constituted on May 25, 2011 with the purpose of promoting the interests of the university community about Olympism and the values of sport, seeking to generate links partnership with the different schools and Schools of the University of Navarra, as well as with people from Pamplona and Navarra related to sports.
