The Parliament of Navarre opened its doors last Monday, 3 May, to 26 national and international students from the Degrees in Law, the double Degree in Law and International Office and the double Degree in Law and Philosophy, who took part in the "Encuentros Parlamentarios Forales-Universitarios" organised by the classroom in Parliamentary Law. The session took place in the Chamber behind closed doors, and the students had the opportunity to ask questions on a variety of subjects: from general questions on parliamentary activity, the meaning of prerogatives, the role of parliamentarians, discipline voting or the vocation of service of those who dedicate themselves to political activity. There were also questions related to current affairs, such as the pandemic and its economic impact, unemployment among young people, the management of vaccines, the presence of women in political life and in the Parliament of Navarre, and the self-government of the Autonomous Community of Navarre.

The questions gave way to turns to speak by the spokespersons of the parliamentary groups, who entered into dialogue with the students and with each other.

The activity, directed by the President of the Parliament, Unai Hualde and the director of the classroom of Parliamentary Law, Professor Asunción de la Iglesia, is part of a partnership agreement between the Parliament and the University that seeks to promote the practical knowledge of parliamentary life, as well as a better knowledge by the university students of the Parliament as a central institution in the democratic life.
