275 people in a summer course on the Pamplona Cathedral
Around 275 people participated in the course "Bringing Heritage Closer. Afternoons in the Cathedral of Pamplona", part of the Summer Courses of the Universities of Navarre 2011.
The program is organized by the Chair of Heritage and Navarrese Art of the University of Navarra, in partnership of the area of Culture of the City Council of Pamplona and the Chapter of the Cathedral of Pamplona
Aimed at all those interested in culture and heritage, it aims to approach the Cathedral of Pamplona from a broad cultural point of view that encompasses its history, architecture, sculpture, painting, music and sumptuary arts.
The sessions are given in the Refectory of the cathedral itself by specialists from the University of Navarra, the UNED of Pamplona, the Complutense University of Madrid and the Royal Academy of History.
For several years the Chair of Heritage and Navarrese Art of the University of Navarra has been developing courses to raise awareness and value the cultural heritage in various localities such as Tafalla (2005), Baztán (2006), Olite (2007), Tudela (2008), Estella (2009) and Corella (2010).
The course is directed by Professor Ricardo Fernández Gracia, director of the Chair of Heritage and Navarrese Art of the University of Navarra and will be closed tomorrow with a concert at position of the Santa María la Real Choir of bass voices, directed by Pedro María Ardáiz Aldea.
