Yesterday was presented in Madrid "Adrián's footprint and Antonio's voice", a solidarity initiative of the business Fluchos footwear that donates part of the sales of its collection 'Huellas' to various social initiatives. On this occasion, the solidarityproject 'Footprints' has the financial aid singer Antonio Orozco to support the research of Adrian Vallejo, researcher laboratory of Oncogenes and Metastasis of research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra.

For a year Antonio Orozco will be the ambassador of project and will follow in his networks the work of Adrián Vallejo. Thus, 'Huellas' joins 'helpify', crowdfunding campaign of CIMA, to raise funds for the research on lung cancer.

"There are people who don't just pass through life.... There are people who leave their mark. A trail of effort, generosity and submission that financial aid to improve the lives of others. Adrian is one of those brilliant young Spaniards doing research to find a cure for lung cancer, heroes helping other heroes. I want us to be a great loudspeaker for Adrian and that everyone knows his research thanks to project Huellas de Fluchos and CIMA", said Antonio Orozco during the presentation of the campaign.

For his part, Adrián Vallejo, acknowledged that "the support of companies such as Fluchos in projects of research is essential for us to continue working every day in the cure of common pathologies, but without a successful cure, as well as rare diseases, and to ensure that thousands of people can smile".

Advances in lung cancer

Lung cancer is currently the leading cause of death from cancer in Spain and in all Western countries. It is estimated that around 300,000 people die each year in Europe from this silent disease. It remains asymptomatic for years and when it is detected, it is generally widespread.

The KRAS oncogene is the most commonly mutated oncogene in lung cancer and is present in more than 25% of patients. Adrián Vallejo's project of research seeks to directly inhibit the KRAS oncogene and look for biomarkers that predict lung cancer development . "Our goal is to identify a protein with functional relevance in signaling this subject tumor and against which we can develop a targeted therapy," Vallejo said.

project Huellas by Fluchos

'Huellas' is the solidarity project of the Riojan footwear business Fluchos, which donates part of the sales of its collection to various social initiatives. For the third year it has Antonio Orozco as ambassador of this project which, on previous occasions, has helped to create and maintain a school in Mali or to develop educational workshops in Cañada Real, Madrid.
