The University of Navarra is the non-state center in Spain with the highest international impact research . This is indicated by the World Ranking of Institutions of research (SIR), developed by the group of research SCImago, of the Institute of Policies and Public Goods of the CSIC and other universities(Granada, Extremadura, Alcalá de Henares, Carlos III and Porto), with data of the SCOPUS base, the largest on scientific production.

The study, one of four at reference letter international, analyzes the research carried out by the 2,000 best centers in the world: organizations, foundations, hospitals and universities. Of the latter, 50 are Spanish.

The ranking places the University of Navarra in 805th place, with a total of 2,668 papers published between 2003 and 2007 in specialized journals. The most relevant indicator, which indicates the number of times articles are cited, is 6.37, higher than that of other universities such as the Complutense de Madrid, Salamanca, Valladolid, or Granada.
