Claudio Forcada: "We have to make a plan to create enlightened music fans".

The violinist, an expert in the Suzuki method, participated in the conference of Educational Centers of the University.

The violinist and Suzuki method expert Claudio Forcada affirmed at the University of Navarra that the strategic thing to cultivate musical sensitivity is "to make a plan to create enlightened music lovers". The specialist gave the plenary session of the conference of Educational Centers organized by the School of Education and Psychology, in which he spoke about the effectiveness in the teaching of music and the psychological aspects related to the acquisition of motor skills.

Claudio Forcada, who also participated in a subsequent roundtable , made a comparison between his experience in Spain and in the United Kingdom, where he teaches courses for string instrumentalists as well as training for teachers. In his opinion, it is necessary to "implement programs like this subject for the academic staff".

The roundtable also counted with the participation of Jaime Berrade, composer, teacher and music educator, who agreed with the also teacher and music therapist María Peralta in pointing out that "the goal should be to identify how music can be used to improve people's wellbeing, so that they can be happier".

Pablo Ramos, president of the Ópera de Cámara de Navarra, and Izaskun Úcar, coordinator of the project opera Eloise, spoke about this collective and interdisciplinary work with a dozen schools in Navarra, which, according to Úcar, "aims to use opera as a vehicle for acquiring the objectives of classroom".

Commitment to the teaching of the arts in Navarre

The conference, which took by degree scroll "Activating a creative school from the arts", counted in its inauguration with the director of the Service of Languages and Artistic Teachings of the department of Education of the Government of Navarre. José Joaquín Martínez affirmed that from the department that he directs "an important bet has been made for the teaching of the arts and the creative teaching , since we are convinced that in this way an integral training is promoted, which provides the student with more tools to solve problems".

In addition to these events, the conference also featured three workshops: the first on creativity, given by Fernando Echarri, manager of area Educativa del Museo Universidad de Navarra; the second on voice, led by Idoia Somoza, professor of singing at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Navarra, and a third on music and movement, with Laly Gorbe, professor of Music Pedagogy at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Navarra.
