On March 12, Professor Elkin Luis García Elkin Luis García gave a talk on "basic principles of neuroimaging. Some neuropsychological aspects to take into account" in the Psychology colloquiums organized by CARE (Center for Attachment and Emotional Regulation) belonging to the School of Psychology of the University of development (Chile).

The goal of this initiative is that the students of the first and second year of the doctorate in Sciences of development and Psychopathology could know throughout the first semester of the year 2018 the lines of research and projects being carried out by different researchers.

Dr. Elkin Luis Garcia introduced the attendees to the principles of neuroimaging. neuroimaging and highlighted the technical limitations of this subject technique in the acquisition of images and the previous evaluation of the participants. According to the expert, "at present, magnetic resonance imaging is becoming more relevant in the research of topics involving basic and clinical neurosciences". Finally, he emphasized the importance for the psychologist or neuropsychologist at training to take into account aspects of the elaboration, design, selection and implementation of the experimental paradigm that will assess the respective cognitive process.
