The Master's Degree in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies offered by School of Pharmacy and Nutrition at campus in Madrid welcomed the 40 students who make up the fourth graduating class on Monday, September 5. During the welcoming workshop , the new students participated in a session with Ignacio Sáez-Torres, physicist and IESE MBA alumnus, who since 2019 has been general manager of Sanofi Vaccines Iberia. 

During the inaugural lecture, Sáez-Torres stressed the importance of investing in innovation: "Patients cannot wait, and we must always bear in mind that at work we are by, for and dedicated to them". He also insisted on the need to train students to "know what is true and what is not true about what is said about the sector, so that more and more young people are eager to improve the industry without losing sight of goal, which can only be to improve patients' lives".

On the other hand, he addressed the difficulties and challenges companies have faced in accessing the SARS-Cov-2 vaccine. "Pandemics are cyclical, so with everything we have learned in the last two years, we no longer have an excuse for not being prepared for the next one," he said. In this regard, he detailed the revolution that the use of messenger RNA has brought about in the world of vaccines.
