The challenges of today's world for self-identity and social coexistence, topic of the 3rd ICS Social Science Competition essay
Open to students of the University of Navarra, competition proposes to focus on how young people perceive the world from their place in society and what opportunities and limitations they find in their environment, among other questions.

The Institute for Culture and Societyresearch center in Humanities and social sciences of the University of Navarra, has launched the third edition of the contest essay in social sciences. The award consists of average scholarship to study the Master's Degree in research in Social Sciences (MICS) in the academic year 2019-2020 and 500 euros in cash.
Through this contest, MICS seeks to create a platform for students interested in social science research to reflect on their social experience, on how the cultural and social context conditions individual behaviors, how social relations can enhance people's thinking and action, leading to lasting social change.
In this edition, the topic 'Mixtures' proposes to focus on the challenges that a changing world generates for one's own identity and for social coexistence: how young people perceive the world from their place in society, what opportunities and limitations they find in their environment, how they orient themselves in unknown environments...
Among other topics, the following can be addressed: migration, interculturality and coexistence; new generations: new practices, new values; diversity, respect and tolerance in public spaces; resilience: tools for adapting to unexpected changes.
Participants must submit by May 10, 2019 a essay of ten pages maximum. A jury composed of ICS representatives will evaluate the proposals submitted and will decide the award on May 31, 2019. The award may be declared void. A second and third honorary award will also be awarded.
