The University reorganizes its Office of the Executive Council team with two new vice presidents

The University of Navarra has reorganized the team of the Office of the Executive Council with the appointment of two new vice presidents. president María Iraburu has appointed Raúl Antón as Vice President for faculty, replacing Pablo Sánchez-Ostiz, and Isabel Olloqui as Vice President for development, who will take on the responsibilities of Fundraising and Alumni. The current Vice President's Office for development and Projects, in the position of Gonzalo Robles, will be renamed Vice President's Office for Strategic Projects. This Vice-Rector's Office, to which the Admissions Office reports, will also house a new Projects Office, with the aim of promoting the 2025-30 Strategy. On the other hand, the Vice-Rector's Office of Academic Affairs, headed by Secundino Fernández, will now be called the Vice-Rector's Office of teaching.
"The University has grown significantly in breadth and depth in recent years, and with this growth comes new needs and opportunities, also in the governance Structures ," explains president María Iraburu. Regarding this reorganization, the president highlighted the search for funds as a priority task "to have the best students and professors, as well as to be able to research on priority issues and promote new projects". She also pointed out the academic center's goal of continuing to promote teaching that will be a transformative experience in the student learning process and the development of the 2025-30 Strategy, which will define the main lines of work of the academic center in the coming years.
Two new faces on the Governing Body of the University: from engineering and communications
Raúl Antón is Full Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He studied Industrial Engineering at Tecnun (2000), then did his PhD thesis at the Royal Institute of Technology-KTH (2007) and has been Visiting Professor at Carnegie Mellon University (2010). He teaches several courses in the area of thermal and fluid engineering. His research focuses on biofluidics and cooling of electronic systems. He has participated in more than 30 industrial projects and public calls, being principal researcher in 13 of them. He has directed or co-directed 7 PhD thesis and is author in 60 articles in JCR journals. In June 2016 he was appointed director of the School of Engineering-Tecnun, a position he has held to date.
Isabel Olloqui holds a degree in Journalism (1996) and a PhD from the University of Navarra (2022). Throughout her career at the University, she has worked as assistant director of Marketing in the Admissions Office and later, director of development in the School of Communication. Between 2021 and 2024 she was director of the president s Office and was currently assistant to the president and director of Corporate development at the University. Isabel Olloqui has a Master's Degree in Communication Business management from the University and the Strategic management and Social Leadership Program from IESE Business School. She has also completed fundraising and leadership training programs at Indiana University and UCLA.
Following this restructuring, the composition of the Executive Council of the board of Governors will be as follows:
