The businessman Eduardo Olier, president in Spain of the French think tank Institut Choiseul, has been appointed new president of the Institute for business and Humanism of the University of Navarra. He replaces Enrique Sendagorta, who was recently honored at the 25th anniversary ceremony of this center.

Eduardo Olier, born in Madrid in 1949, holds a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He was Senior Associate Professor in the Chair of Fundamental Mathematics and Programming at the School of Telecommunications Engineering in Madrid and completed graduate programs at Crandfield School of Management and Harvard Business School. He currently directs the Chair of Geoeconomics and International Strategy at the CEU Graduate Institute.

He has been director of technology programs at the European Space Agency (Netherlands) and has held management positions at Repsol and the BBV-Iberdrola Industrial group . He was partner director the US consultancy service signature Deloitte Consulting and president for Iberia, as well as executive vice-president of the Japanese business NEC, where he was manager of Southern Europe and Latin America.

He has also served as chairman of the committee advisor of the consulting firm Bearing Point in Southern Europe; and of the human resources signature Korn Ferry in the same region. In the media field, he was president of the Negocios group , as well as publisher of the Gaceta de los Negocios and vice-president of Intereconomía Corporación.

Married with 5 children, he currently chairs in Spain the Institut Choiseul, a think tank of French origin, and directs the edition of the two Choiseul magazines published in Spanish: Geoeconomía and Seguridad Global. He is also a member of the committee of the Union Culturel pour la Méditerranée (Paris) and president for Spain and Portugal of the investment management company BN Capital Assets based in Milan.
